After MASP announced that Friday nights will be free, Pinacoteca de São Paulo has announced another day of free admission! From February 9, the Pinacoteca will be open one Sunday a month in all its buildings. So if you’re looking for a cultural and affordable weekend outing, you’ve found the right answer.
Pinacoteca de São Paulo will have free admission one weekend a month
Until now, the Pinacoteca had free admission on Saturdays. But now, through a partnership with B3, the institution will further democratize people’s access to its collection. This is because it will also be free on the second Sunday of each month, guaranteeing a whole weekend off.
The initiative is part of the Domingo é na Pina campaign, which aims to double the number of visitors on the first day of the week: it is estimated that the museum receives up to 4,500 people a day!
Traditionally, the Pinacoteca already hosts PinaFamilia on the second Sundays of the month, with fun programs for children and adults. From now on, therefore, families will be able to enjoy the attractions without weighing down their pockets, guaranteeing fun for all ages.
How to visit?
The Pinacoteca is the oldest art museum in the capital and is a benchmark in Brazil for the visual arts. It currently has three buildings: Pina Luz, Pina Estação and Pina Contemporânea.
Even on free admission days, you must collect your ticket free of charge via the website or at the box office. You can make a voluntary contribution of R$22 if you wish.
On paid days, the price starts at R$15, giving you access to all three buildings. Check out more information about the collection on the museum’s website or social media!
