If you want to enjoy the cool season but aren’t up for the drive (and the prices) to Campos do Jordão, here’s a surefire tip. The 2026 Paranapiacaba Winter Festival takes place in the historic village of Santo André during the last two weekends of July, less than 60 kilometers from São Paulo!
The district’s cobblestone streets and small English-style houses will host free musical performances and artistic installations, as well as a food court featuring the best of local cuisine. In other words, the event guarantees a complete cultural immersion, where the public can celebrate the coldest season of the year in style.

The 25th edition of the festival, “ ,” promises to fill several streets in the town with cultural attractions. Although the curatorial details are not yet available, the program will feature outdoor theater, dance, music, and circusperformances, as well as audiovisual screenings at Cine Lyra.
In addition to enjoying the concerts, those who make the trip up the mountain can explore the district’s tourist attractions, such as the famous station clock, antique markets, and small craft shops. Adventurers, meanwhile, can take the opportunity to explore the trails in the Serra do Mar—an unmissable attraction in Paranapiacaba!
How can you participate?
One of the best ways to visit Paranapiacaba is by public transportation. Just take CPTM’s Line 10-Turquesa to the Rio Grande da Serra station, and once there, board bus line 424 (Rio Grande da Serra – Paranapiacaba), or hail a taxi or book a ride-sharing service.
If you prefer to drive, please note: cars are not allowed in the lower part of the village, so you’ll need to park in the upper part. Although the walk is short, depending on the number of visitors, the small town of Paranapiacaba often experiences long lines, traffic jams, and a shortage of parking spots on event days.
The English village is also accessible via the CPTM Tourist Express; however, all trips for July are already sold out. So , grab your Bilhete Único and enjoy an affordable adventure this winter!
