Historic mansions and farms in São Paulo: the best options in the Coffee Valley
Loanda Farm
The mansion was built even before the coffee cycle, in the mid-18th century, but received a major renovation during the coffee boom. Since then, it has kept its luxurious neoclassical architecture, with rare paintings and objects, as well as rooms preserved with French furniture from the time.
The tour goes through the mansion, chapel and gardens of the place, in the presence of a guide who explains details of the daily life of the former barons and enslaved people.

Coqueiros Farm
This is another of the historic farms in Bananal, a town that played a leading role during the coffee cycle in São Paulo. Visitors can tour the property with a guide, who will show them both the beautiful architecture and luxurious objects of the time and the dark side of the colonial period. The domestic slave quarters are still preserved today, for example, as are the objects that were used to torture and punish enslaved people.
The farm also offers accommodation, food options (breakfast, colonial breakfast and lunch; all with a tour included) and day use for the leisure areas (with access to the swimming pool, a full lunch, a guided tour and more).

The visit includes a guided tour of the property and meals (cocktail and full lunch in the morning; colonial coffee in the afternoon), as well as a tour of the Sala de Memórias and the Armando Vianna Museum. It is also possible to stay at the farm and go horseback riding, for a separate fee.

The mansion of the Baron of Vassouras is a good illustration of the luxury of the coffee era, and impresses with its grandeur. There you can see ostentatious halls, European furniture and an imposing garden with imperial palm trees.
Visitors can tour it in the company of a guide, who will tell them about the history of the place. You can also see the collection of antique cars owned by the current owners and have colonial coffee on the property.
