MASP, a cultural institution beloved by São Paulo residents, will be present at Virada Cultural 2026. This weekend, May 23–24, the public will have a unique opportunity to visit the collection in the early hours of the morning, experiencing one of Latin America’s largest museums from a totally innovative perspective. The Vão Livre will also feature an exclusive performance, bringing more culture to the nightlife of Paulista Avenue!

MASP will be open throughout the entire Virada Cultural 2026, with free admission from 6 p.m. on Saturday (23) until 6 p.m. on Sunday (24). This is the first time in history that the museum will operate for 24 consecutive hours.
During the early morning hours, between midnight and 10 a.m., the long-term exhibition “Collection in Transformation” will be open to visitors, featuring works by Tarsila do Amaral, Picasso, Van Gogh, Anita Malfatti, and other iconic artists.
In addition, at 8 p.m. on Saturday, MASP’s Vão Livre will host the performance “Hipnagógico” by Novíssimo Edgar. Inspired by the transitional state between wakefulness and sleep, the work uses music and body movements to take the audience on a visual and sensory journey. Sign language interpretation will be provided.

What else is there to do at Virada Cultural 2026?
In addition to MASP being open 24 hours a day, São Paulo’s Virada Cultural offers hundreds of other free attractions throughout the city. The artistic program brings together theater, dance, visual arts, literature, and urban interventions at various partner institutions.
Another highlight is the major musical performances, which bring together artists such as Marina Sena, Thiaguinho, Joelma, Luísa Sonza, and Gaby Amarantos on 22 different stages. Check out more information in this article!
