Line 6-Laranja, scheduled to open in October of this year, will be a game-changer for residents of the North Zone by integrating Brasilândia into the São Paulo metro network. If all goes well, in a few years, residents of the region will have another metro transportation option: Line 23-Limão, which will connect them to Osasco and Tatuapé.
The project is still in the initial phase of technical studies, with no estimated start date for construction. However, the latest Integrated Report from Metrô SP already offers hints about the possible stations that will make up the metro ring in the North Zone.

What is the Arco Norte project?
Although the project is still in its infancy, Line 23-Limão has already earned a nickname: “Arco Norte.” The branch line is expected to facilitate connections between outlying neighborhoods in the East and North Zones, without the need to pass through the expanded downtown area. In this way, the project will create a “metro ring” that will bypass the city center.
Although there is still no definitive confirmation of all the stations, a report from the São Paulo Metro has released, for the first time, a map showing the route of the future Limão Line. Thus, we already have an idea of where they might be located.
According to the map, the line would begin at Cohab Raposo, connecting with the future Line 22-Brown, passing through locations such as Osasco ( Lines 8 and 9), Pirituba ( Line 7-Ruby), Hospital Itaberaba ( Line 6-Orange), Santana (Line 1-Blue), Santo Eduardo (Line 19-Sky Blue), and finally, Tatuapé. In addition, the total route is expected to include approximately 27 stations, integrating 10 existing lines.

What are the next steps for the project?
The project is currently in its initial stage. The preliminary design is expected to take shape in the coming months, as are the environmental studies, which are scheduled for 2026. Therefore, there are still no set dates for the start of construction or for the opening. In other words, Line 23-Limão is a long-term plan, with a wait of more than 10 years.
