The São Paulo coast is home to undeniable natural beauty, as well as historic destinations that take us back to the days of Colonial Brazil. But soon, the São Paulo coast may welcome yet another attraction that promises to draw tourists from across the country: the largest Ferris wheel in Latin America.
That title currently belongs to Roda Rico, in the capital of São Paulo. Standing 91 meters tall and 80 meters in diameter, the attraction is located next to Villa-Lobos Park and offers a 360° view of the city of São Paulo.

How about enjoying the Atlantic Ocean from above?
The new attraction will be in Caraguatatuba, a city on the northern coast 170 kilometers from São Paulo. It is expected to be 120 meters tall —making it taller, for example, than buildings like the Martinelli ( 110 meters) and the Copan ( 115 meters)!
The attraction will be part of the new Camaroeiro and Santo Antônio Tourist Complex, which will connect two existing recreational areas along the city’s waterfront. In addition to the Ferris wheel, the project includes plans to install:
- A cable car nearly 3 kilometers long;
- Restaurants and snack bars;
- Viewpoints, playgrounds, and cultural spaces.

Construction on Latin America’s largest Ferris wheel is set to begin as early as 2026
For now, the project is in the planning phase and depends on permits and court decisions. Once approved, construction will be carried out under a concession to the private sector, which will invest R$ 150 million and will be able to manage the space during its first years. Therefore, it will be built without the use of public funds.
Construction is expected to begin in the second half of 2026, with an opening scheduled for between 2028 and 2029. For the Caraguatatuba City Government, the new Ferris wheel could boost tourism in the region, attracting more visitors and investments to the seaside municipality.
