When it comes to cruises, most São Paulo residents immediately think of the Port of Santos. But did you know that it is possible to enjoy a luxury experience right on the Tietê River? We are talking about the Homero Krähenbühl Ship, which offers a river tour with total comfort and refined cuisine in the interior of São Paulo.
The attraction is available in Barra Bonita, about 300 kilometers from the capital. With themed tours and sophistication on board, the vessel has become a must-see destination for those seeking leisure outside the metropolis.

Navio Homero: the story behind Carlos Nascimento’s boat
The project was born from a personal desire of Carlos Nascimento, a renowned Brazilian television journalist. The former anchor, who worked for Rede Globo, Band, and SBT, decided to invest in navigation after retirement. The result of more than a decade of planning, the ship began receiving passengers in 2022, at the tourist resort of Barra Bonita.
The vessel complies with international standards, inspired by North American and European cruise ships. In addition to refinement, the project prioritizes accessibility, with elevators, tactile flooring, and other facilities to safely accommodate all types of visitors.

Itineraries and cuisine on the Tietê River cruise
The Homero Krähenbühl Ship offers two main itineraries, usually on weekends. On Saturdays and holidays, visitors sail through the clear waters of the Tietê-Paraná Waterway towards Pederneiras, passing through the lock. On Sundays, the tour heads towards the city of São Manuel.
Tickets start at R$ 350 for adults and R$ 175 for children aged 2 to 12, while babies up to 2 years old are exempt. The price includes a welcome cocktail or breakfast—depending on the itinerary and schedule—as well as a full lunch with a main course, dessert, coffee, and liqueur. To complete the experience, there is live music on board.
Carlos Nascimento’s ship also organizes themed trips on special dates, such as Carnival. Check out more information and book your tour on the website!
