Downtown São Paulo has just gained a new address inspired by New York bars. The same partners behind Holy Burger and Fôrno have opened Holy Tavern Bar & Restaurant, a small, intimate venue designed for those who value good food, signature cocktails, and time at the table.
With only 23 seats and operating exclusively by reservation, the restaurant focuses on a carefully orchestrated experience. So, if you also love discovering São Paulo’s gastronomic novelties, check out all the details below.

Restaurants in downtown São Paulo: intimate atmosphere and “warm” ambiance
Located in Vila Buarque, Holy Tavern builds its identity from its atmosphere. This is because the decor mixes dark wood, mirrors, exposed bricks, low lighting, and reddish tones, creating a space reminiscent of historic New York bars. In addition, portraits and personal objects help tell the story of partners Filipe Fernandes, Gabriel Prieto, and Thyago Lemos, reinforcing the establishment’s unique character.
According to chef Filipe Fernandes, the idea is to transport customers to a multicultural atmosphere typical of New York taverns. Even for those who have never been to the city, the idea is to create an immediate sensory experience, where food, drink, and ambiance come together.

Where to eat meat and grilled dishes in São Paulo
The heart of Holy Tavern’s kitchen is the charcoal oven, responsible for dishes that draw on American, French, English, and Scandinavian influences.
Among the starters, the Dry Aged Carpaccio, prepared with wagyu aged for 60 days, and the Moules Frites, a classic with mussels, fries, and red bisque, stand out.
There is also a single burger option, served on a limited basis and upon request, reinforcing the exclusive and non-obvious character of the house. For main courses, the menu includes dishes such as Dry Aged Meatballs, Pastrami de Língua, Prime Rib, as well as Octopus and Dry Aged Sirloin.

Signature cocktails and desserts
The experience is completed with desserts created by pastry chef Mariana Mota, such as papaya cream with cassis and chocolate soufflé. In the details, customized tableware and accessories brought from Soho, New York, help reinforce the restaurant’s identity.
At the bar, the menu features signature drinks, such as Kyuuri Shio, as well as Rauch Bier, a smoked beer that complements the cuisine. There are also mocktails, soft drinks, and filtered coffee, ensuring that every moment of the experience is carefully curated.
