The São João Express is a very different option for a family outing. With a June theme, the program promises to be a real event on rails and will take participants to the charming historic village of Paranapiacaba, located in the interior of São Paulo.
The plan takes place on June 21. Boarding will take place at Estação da Luz, in São Paulo, at 8 a. m. and will continue to its destination. During the journey, travelers will be able to enjoy wagons decorated with flags, listen to typical live music and, of course, taste the best of country cuisine, traditional at June festivals.
What’s the ride like on the São João Express?
To the sound of forró and sertanejo, passengers will be invited to get into the mood for the June festivities along the way to one of the state’s most curious villages. This trip is a must for those who enjoy the festive season and also for those who like history.
Upon arriving in Paranapiacaba, participants will be given a guided tour of three of the main tourist attractions in the area. These are: the Castelinho, a curious residence with a panoramic view of the village; the Fox House, a museum that tells the story of the daily life of the railway families who lived there; and the Funicular Museum, which houses locomotives from the 19th century railway system.
At the end of this tour, visitors will have free time to explore Paranapiacaba as they wish. So, if you want to embark on this adventure, be sure to check out our article about the village by clicking here.
