In the heart of São Paulo, a century-old mansion houses the city’s most beautiful bar. The space combines good cocktails and high quality live shows, as well as the surrounding atmosphere of a historic building that gives the place a unique charm! If you’re up on cultural news, you already know where we’re talking about. It’s Casa de Francisca, where music, good food and architecture come together in just the right way.
In other words, if you like exploring new corners of São Paulo that celebrate art and culture – and also generate great photos! – take note of this tip.

Casa de Francisca is a new cultural hotspot in the capital
In recent times, the bar has become a reference in São Paulo’s nightlife. But the truth is that it has been around for quite a few years: since 2006, when it was nicknamed the smallest concert hall in São Paulo. Until, in 2017, Casa de Francisca moved to Palacete Tereza Toledo Lara, a historic building in the center, where it could welcome a larger audience.
The palace, inaugurated in 1910, is a São Paulo heritage site and retains its classical and eclectic architecture to this day. Inspired by European elements, the building stands out for its colorful stained glass windows and impressive details on the façade, such as ornaments, statues and garlands.
If the exterior is impressive enough, the interior leaves nothing to be desired! Strings of lights add a lively and elegant touch to the ambience, along with bright colors – green, yellow, red – that represent the Brazilian festive spirit. It’s no surprise that Casa de Francisca has fallen in love with the local s, one of those places that is always buzzing with activity.

How about enjoying a samba in the basement of this historic mansion?
In addition to its charming look, Casa de Francisca wins over audiences for its musical quality. So much so that, in 2024, Folha de S. Paulo chose the bar-restaurant as the best place to listen to music in the city!
The house values national music, with shows ranging from raggae to MPB, by renowned or emerging artists. But the highlight is certainly samba no porão which has become one of the most authentic and popular clubs in São Paulo.
Are you curious to see it? Then write it down: Casa de Francisca is at Rua Quintino Bocaiúva, 22 (Sé). The program is available at this link, where you can also make your reservations. More information on social media!
