The city of São Paulo is home to some incredible samba circles! But one in particular has attracted attention because of its secret and unusual location. We’re talking about the samba circle in the basement of Casa de Francisca, one of São Paulo’s most beloved bars.
In 2024, the house was voted the best bar for listening to music in the capital, according to the Folha de S. Paulo newspaper. That alone is reason enough for you to discover this experience in the basement and, of course, enjoy the best of Brazilian music!

Samba in the basement of Casa de Francisca!
This tour is the perfect option for those looking for an authentic experience in the city center. The samba de roda in the basement is marked by a lot of Brazilianness and the drumming of our country. To take part, you need to keep an eye on Casa de Francisca‘s schedule, published on the bar’s official Instagram (@casadefrancisca). The schedule changes every week, so be sure to keep an eye on it.
A curious detail is that the performances take place in the basement of a historic palace in the city: the Palacete Tereza Toledo Lara, which has more than 100 years of history. In 2017, in order to expand its capacity, Casa de Francisca moved there, giving the space a new lease of life.
