A city of 60,000 inhabitants in the interior of the state of São Paulo is a paradise for adventurers. We’re talking about Boituva, which is 120 kilometers from São Paulo and has recently become synonymous with adrenaline – especially if you like flying.
Known by many as the national capital of hot air ballooning, or even the “Brazilian Cappadocia”, Boituva is one of the largest centers of tourist ballooning in the country. You know that scene we see in the movies, with the sky dotted with huge, colorful balloons? It’s exactly like that!
But there’s much more to enjoy in the city than just ballooning. Check out our tips below!
What to do in Boituva (SP)?
If you want to live a unique experience, your first stop should be a balloon ride. After all, in addition to an exclusive panoramic view of nature, some tours even offer gastronomic experiences. That’s right! After landing, many tour operators offer sparkling wine, breakfast or an afternoon snack.
Another extreme sport that is very common in the region is skydiving. In fact, Boituva has the largest jumping area and skydiving structure in Latin America, with double flights and even professional courses.
Nature and even cachaças to taste!
For those who like nature walks, but with “less emotion”, Boituva has several parks to enjoy. Like the Eugênio Walter Ecological Park, which has free admission and even a zoo with 25 species of animals! Or the Egídio Labronici Park, also called the City Park, which has toys for children and lots of green areas to relax in.
Finally, an idea for those who like history is Fazenda Pinhal, which is open to visitors. The property dates back to the 19th century and heritage of the Coffee Cycle with many original objects from the time. In addition, today the property manufactures cachaça, so you can see the mills and the whole process of making the drink. As well as tasting it and taking some home, of course!
