Over the last few days, we’ve been inundated with news about the traffic getting out of the capital and if you’ve read this article, you’re surely already booked on a trip and looking for the best times to travel. After all, being stuck in a traffic jam for hours can be very stressful!
That’s why we’ve created a guide that will help you escape – or at least dodge a bit of – the rush hour traffic, so you can travel more smoothly and in less time.
Anhanguera-Bandeirantes
During the holiday, around 802,000 vehicles are expected to use the system. As a result, the best times to travel on this highway, which connects 18 cities, including São Paulo, Jundiaí and Campinas, are the early mornings. Peak times are Monday the 30th, from 4pm to 8pm, and Tuesday the 31st, from 11am to noon. The secret here is to get up early!
Anchieta-Imigrantes
On the other hand, the Anchieta-Imigrantes System will have two special operations to enable the high end-of-year flow towards the São Paulo coast. They are: Descida Imigrantes (7×3), which takes place from 6am to 11:59pm, and during Tuesday the 31st, from 3pm to 10pm.
The highway expects to handle between 530,000 and 875,000 vehicles over the festive period.
Castello-Raposo
As with the Anhanguera-Bandeirantes highway, the best times to travel on the Castello-Raposo system are in the morning. According to the concessionaire’s forecast, the high flow on the highways should occur between Monday the 30th, from 4pm to 6pm, and Tuesday the 31st, from 11am to noon. Approximately 677,000 vehicles are expected to travel between Castello-Raposo on the holiday.
Western Ring Road
Travelers can expect a heavy flow on this road. CCR RodoAnel, which is responsible for the stretch, predicts that Monday the 30th, from 4pm to 6pm, and Tuesday the 31st, between 11am and noon, will be the busiest times.
