Get ready to raise a toast: two of the world’s 50 best bars are in São Paulo!
The 2026 World’s 50 Best Bars ranking was announced on Wednesday, the 7th, during a ceremony in Milan, Italy.
And the city of São Paulo has plenty of reasons to celebrate. Exímia ranked 20th, while Tan Tan appears in 35th place on this year’s list.
Exímia and Tan Tan place São Paulo among the world’s best bars
The achievement is even more impressive when we consider that Exímia opened its doors in May 2024.
Led by Márcio Silva and brothers Gabriel and Nicholas Fullen, the bar was founded with the goal of celebrating Brazilian culture in a contemporary way.
This is particularly evident in its signature cocktails, which explore Brazilian ingredients, flavors, and cultural references without resorting to the clichés typically associated with Brazil.
International recognition came quickly. In 2025, Exímia made its debut on the extended list of The World’s 50 Best Bars, entering directly at No. 61.
Now, just two years after its opening, the bar has reached 20th place in the world and has been named the best Brazilian bar of 2026.
And he’s not alone in this mission to represent São Paulo.
A familiar face on the list, Tan Tan ranks 35th this year. The Pinheiros bar had ranked 24th last year.
Led by chef, restaurateur, and bar manager Thiago Bañares, the venue blends signature cocktails and Asian influences on its menu.
The presence of these two bars also marks a significant milestone for the country: it is the first time since 2010 that two Brazilian bars have simultaneously appeared in the global Top 50.
In other words, if you needed an excuse to explore São Paulo’s cocktail scene, now you have one that’s internationally recognized. After all, you can experience the 20th and 35th best bars on the planet without even leaving São Paulo.
