Fruit picking at Maeda Park turns a trip to Itu, in the interior of São Paulo, into a rural tourism experience. Instead of trying pre-packaged products, visitors can walk among the orchards, pick the fruit, and taste it straight from the tree!
Currently, Maeda Park offers four different picking tours: strawberries, jabuticaba, lychee, and blueberries. Each picking season occurs at a different time of year, subject to change due to weather, the quantity of ripe fruit, and nature’s own rhythm. So be sure to plan ahead to try your favorite fruit!
Admission to the park starts at R$ 110, and each picking tour is an additional charge. So check out the harvests and choose your favorite:

Jabuticaba picking at Maeda Park generally begins in late August and continues through late September. The park has over 700 trees that yield up to 10,000 jabuticabas for visitors to pick and eat right in the orchard!
The 2026 season has already begun, with tours available on weekends. The tour costs R$ 25 per person, and in addition to tasting the fruit, you can purchase artisanal liqueurs and jams produced on-site.
Lychee

Lychees take center stage in the summer: Maeda Park expects to begin the harvest in late December and extend it through January. The highlight of the visit is picking and tasting the lychees straight from the trees, while you enjoy the visual experience of walking through a “sea” of fruit-laden trees.
The seasonal nature of the fruit makes this tour a great option for summer vacations, offering an appealing choice for families who want to get closer to nature.
Blueberries

Blueberries are a new addition to the selection of fruits at Maeda Park. The staff expects the harvest to take place between November and January, incorporating it into the Strawberry All-You-Can-Eat experience.
In addition to walking through the strawberry greenhouse, visitors can taste blueberries straight from the bushes. The first harvest, in 2025, featured 260 plants and yielded about 900 kilograms of fruit!
Strawberries

Maeda Park’s Strawberry All-You-Can-Pick takes place in a 3,000-square-meter greenhouse, with over 20,000 plants spread across more than 40 aisles. The attraction is inspired by ichigo gari, the Japanese tradition of picking fruit right from the field.
During the tour, visitors stroll through the greenhouse, pick the fruit, and eat as much as they like, complete with condensed milk on the side.
Unlike the other options, strawberry picking doesn’t have a specific season. The activity takes place year-round, but the park notes that the tour depends on daily availability. So be sure to check the website or contact the staff before visiting.
