Over the last few years, Japanese cuisine has definitely become more popular and has fallen in love with São Paulo. However, most restaurants don’t go much further than the basic sushi, sashimi and temaki, failing to serve several typical Japanese delicacies. This is the case with yakiniku, the famous Japanese barbecue, which is why we’ve selected a few places that serve this delicacy in São Paulo.
Quite different from what we do here, with skewers, smoke and a lot of samba, yakiniku proposes that diners sit around a grill, where everyone prepares their own meat (usually thin slices of beef, pork, chicken and seafood). After that, you just have to choose one of the available sauces (many based on the famous shoyu) to pair with it.
