Have you ever visited CienTec? This little-known park at USP hides super interactive tours, perfect for schoolchildren, as they can see up close many of the things they learn in class. In other words, although it’s not one of the most famous parks in São Paulo, it’s worth a visit for its immersive and educational proposal.
Parque CienTec is located at Avenida Miguel Stéfano, 4200 – Água Funda, very close to the São Paulo Zoo. Visits take place from Monday to Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., so it’s worth planning to enjoy a day full of fun with the kids.

What to do at USP’s CienTec Park?
This little green spot in the middle of São Paulo has ecological trails to explore nature and various attractions focused on science. Among them: the Alameda do Sistema Solar, an installation that presents the planets during a short walk; Biomas do Brasil, an exhibition that exalts the national flora and fauna; and the Physics in Everyday Life space, full of toys that present scientific concepts through play. The park also offers
- Astronomical observations;
- Bee Walk;
- History Walk;
- Geophysics Space;
- Soil at School;
- Microscopy;
- Planetarium.
To complete the tour, CienTec is perfect for picnics: it has its own picnic areas with tables, chairs and lots of greenery. So put on your most comfortable sneakers, put on some sunscreen and get ready to enjoy!

CienTec Expedition
In addition to all the structure, on Fridays and Saturdays when the moon is rising there is the CienTec Expedition, a free guided tour that goes through seven science-themed stations. The tour lasts around three hours and is highly praised by participants.
The highlight of the expedition is the planetarium, where you can observe the stars with telescopes and alongside specialists and students from USP. The dates are announced on the park’s official channels, so it’s worth following the Instagram @parquecientec to find out when the next one will be!
