If you think that children’s paradise is only in amusement parks, you haven’t been to Laranjal Paulista yet. Located 160 kilometers from the capital, the town has earned the title of “toy town” for having the largest production of this type in Brazil, with games and dolls of all kinds.
In addition, the town in the interior of São Paulo stands out for its welcoming atmosphere and attractions for all ages, making it a good destination for a relaxing weekend. Shall we get to know it?

Why is Laranjal Paulista the city of toys?
The nickname didn’t come for nothing: the country town is the largest toy producer in Latin America, and the third largest in the world! The city has more than 30 factories which together produce around 70 million toys a year, mainly dolls.
But the title isn’t just symbolic. In 2021, the government of São Paulo officially recognized Laranjal Paulista as the “State Capital of Toys”, and a bill is currently being proposed to make it the “National Capital of Toys” as well. In other words, if you want to give your child a treat there’s no better place. There are endless options!

What else to do there?
Laranjal Paulista isn’t just about toys. The town is close to the Serra do Botucatu and the Serra do Japi, and also stands out for its adventure and ecotourism attractions. Such as hiking trails, nature watching and canoeing on the Tietê River.
For those who like to take photos and enjoy the sunset, the tip is to visit the Municipal Viewpoint, which guarantees an incredible view of the landscape. The City Park is perfect for having a picnic or enjoying nature in tranquillity, and for those traveling in hot weather, the Castelo Park Aquático is the perfectplace to cool off!
