What’s open on New Year’s Eve in São Paulo?
Essential services
Because of New Year’s Eve in Paulista, the São Paulo subway will have a special operation from December 31 until dawn on January 1, 2026. Check out the timetables for other services:
- Poupatempo: closed
- TEA Paulista Center: 8am to 12pm
- CPTM: normal weekday operation
- Buses : operation with Sunday schedules (zero fare)
- Petrol stations: special opening hours
- State and municipal hospitals: normal service
- Emergency Care Units (UPAs): normal service

Parks & leisure
- Trianon Park: closed
- Ibirapuera Park: 5 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Villa-Lobos Park: 5:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Parque da Juventude: 06h to 16h
- Água Branca Park: 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- São Paulo Zoo: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Museum of Indigenous Cultures: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Alberto Lofgren Park – Horto Florestal: 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Shopping centers
Most of São Paulo’s shopping malls operate reduced opening hours on New Year’s Eve. One exception is Shopping Cidade São Paulo, which will be closed on the 31st due to the São Silvestre Race and New Year’s Eve in Paulista, which will occupy the street from 8am.

- Villa-Lobos Park: 8.30am to 7pm
- Trianon Park: 9am to 6pm
- Água Branca Park: 8.30am to 8pm
- Youth Park: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Alberto Löfgren Park – Horto Florestal: 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Minhocão: will operate as a park all day long
