After being suspended for a year, visits to the Martinelli Building are back! The building, which is a symbol of São Paulo, is reopening its doors to those who want to hear its stories and get a closer look at its halls, which have hosted important events in São Paulo’s history.
The icon is currently undergoing a renovation that will transform it into a multicultural complex. That’s why visiting the Martinelli also means getting a taste of what’s to come by checking out the changes that have been hidden from the public until now.

Tours of the Martinelli Building begin in August
The giant opens its doors on August 5th. Visits to the Martinelli will last 45 minutes and will always take place on Tuesdays, from 12:30 to 17:30. The tour is free and will be led by guides from the Municipal Tourism Office’s “Vai de Roteiro” program, which explores iconic tourist spots in the capital.
During the tour, visitors will learn about the building’s history – some of which will give you goosebumps. Did you know, for example, that Martinelli was once the scene of crimes that were never explained, and today has a reputation for being haunted? This and more will be explained by the guides, who will also give details of the architecture and (non-haunted) history of Giuseppe Martinelli’s masterpiece.
What’s more, the tour gives you the chance to see São Paulo’s most charming terrace! The rooftop of the Martinelli Building has a 360° view of the city, so you can see the Sé Cathedral, the Municipal Theater and other unmissable postcards.

How to participate?
Want to know how to visit the Martinelli Building? Tickets are free and available on the official website, always at noon on the Thursday before the visit. But here’s a detail: there are only a few places available and the tour is very busy, so make sure you get your tickets on time.
The first batch of tickets will be available on July 31st. Keep an eye on Martinelli’s social networks and activate the reminders on your cell phone so you don’t forget to secure your place!
