In recent years, the Pinheiros River and its surroundings have been undergoing an intense process of depollution and revitalization. And this project has just taken another step forward, with the inauguration of the first phase of the Usina São Paulo.
This is a new space for events on Marginal Pinheiros, next to Bruno Covas Park. This is the first delivery of a complex which, in the future, will include restaurants, office space and cultural spaces. Check out everything we know about the new development!
Usina São Paulo: project promises to revitalize Marginal Pinheiros
The Usina São Paulo is a public-private project whose aim is to revitalize and develop the Marginal Pinheiros region. The first step was precisely the inauguration of the new event space, which will be managed by Casa Fasano and required around R$ 35 million.
The space also has a parking lot with capacity for 250 cars, which will be available for visitors to Bruno Covas Park on non-event days.
Complex will also have a rooftop and gastronomic-cultural attractions
Now, the second phase will include the revitalization of the Usina São Paulo building, which gives the project its name. Born in 1940 as Usina Elevatória de Traição, the plant now serves as a regulator of the level of the Pinheiros River, preventing flooding at times of high water levels.
After the revitalization, the building will receive a rooftop with panoramic views of the city, restaurants and cultural spaces. The aim is to create a new tourist area in the region that will bring the public closer to the Pinheiros River.
For the time being, work on the complex is expected to finish in the second half of 2025.
