Until March 9, you can see the exhibition ‘Duas Rodas e Uma Nação – A história da motocicleta no Brasil’ on the 19th and 20th floors of Farol Santander. This exhibition is an ode to the history of motorcycles in Brazil and their great cultural and social impact on the country.
By looking at the details and curiosities of parts, technology and clothing, visitors will be able to understand how this two-wheeled transport has been part of the history of Brazilians, having great importance at various times over the years.
What will you find at the ‘Two wheels and a nation’ exhibition?
This exhibition presents iconic motorcycles from different generations. From the first motorcycles in history to the most modern models, this exhibition circuit is a real dive into this segment of the automotive world. You can see the evolution of the design of two-wheeled transport and its impact on mobility and the daily lives of Brazilians.
The exhibition also covers important aspects of the role of women in motorcycling and the culture of motor cycle clubs. Check out some of the more than 50 motorcycles on display:
- Replica of the first Royal Enfield motorcycle from 1901;
- Norton M30 from 1936
- BMW R16 from 1932;
- Alcyon from 1908.
Visitors can also take part in an interactive experience that simulates the inside of a motorcycle engine. You can feel and hear how it works.
About the Santander Lighthouse
The exhibition ‘Two wheels and a nation’ is on display until March 9 on the 19th and 20th floors of the Santander Lighthouse, located at Rua João Brícola 24 – Centro Histórico de SP. The institution is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9am to 8pm, and tickets start at R$22.50 .
When you visit, it’s worth taking the opportunity to visit the other floors of the iconic building and, if you take public transport, you’ll have easy access via the São Bento Metro station and bus stops in the area.
