Here comes the new show ‘Tina – Respeito’, about one of the most beloved characters in the Turma da Mônica universe. Directed by Mauro Sousa and conceived by MSP (Maurício de Sousa Produções), the plot features Isabelle Drummond as Tina, a recently graduated journalist who faces professional and personal challenges, due to machismo and harassment in her work environment.
The show will run from October 4 to November 3 at the Teatro das Artes (Eldorado Shopping Mall in Pinheiros). Tickets start at R$ 42 and are available at the theater box office or on the official website.
‘Tina – Respect’ addresses current issues of gender and machismo
The play is inspired by the comic book of the same name, released in 2019. The comics, drawn by Fefê Torquato, show a Tina recently graduated in journalism, starting her job in a newsroom.
What was a dream, however, soon becomes a nightmare because of her boss, a renowned reporter who ends up harassing her. Not knowing how to deal with the situation, Tina reflects on gender issues, machismo and, above all, respect.
After the success of the comic book, it will be transformed into a show starting in October. With Isabelle Drummond in the lead role, we’ll see the character going through and overcoming these challenges, alongside dear friends like Rolo and Pipa.
According to Drummond, the play helps the new generation prepare for the times we live in, where harassment is still, unfortunately, a current issue. In addition, for the actress, this is an opportunity to return to the theater after a season of acting on the big screen. After all, she played Tina in the movie ‘Turma da Mônica – Lições’.
How to watch?
The screenings will take place on Fridays (8pm) and Saturdays and Sundays (5pm and 8pm), with an indicative rating of 14 years. The production informs that, despite being a work of fiction, the plot brings up delicate themes such as situations of harassment against women.
