Lorena and Maria Augusta are two very different girls. However, one day their parents decide to move in together, changing the girls’ lives completely! This is the synopsis of ‘By a Thread’, a young play that will run from September 7 to October 26, at the Garden South Theater. Find out more below:
What to expect from ‘Por um Fio’?
Despite being aimed at a young audience, ‘Por um Fio’ is a play for the whole family. Through Lorena and Maria Augusta’s relationship, the plot discusses many relevant topics today, such as dependence on social networks, human connections and a greater understanding of ASD.
The editing is by the Flávia Garrafa Team, which sought to delve into how technology and social networks give us a false idea of connection with others. And how this flawed feeling can be one of the reasons why we find it difficult to make genuine exchanges with the people we love, after all, really connecting with someone takes time, patience and willingness… Three aspects that are incompatible with the urgency and speed demanded by the digital world.
On the other hand, the presence of a character with ASD allows us to delve deeper into their way of seeing the world. The ways of communicating vary according to each individual on the spectrum. But it is possible to identify the common difficulty in interacting, especially when making friends.
By featuring a teenager diagnosed with ASD, the show allows the audience to learn more about this reality and reduce possible stigmas about ASD. In addition to understanding that, for those on the other side, one must be open to empathetic listening and do everything to mobilize their gaze, thus contributing to understanding the individual.
