Film lovers can now celebrate, because the 48th edition of the São Paulo International Film Festival is coming up ! From October 17 to 30, the public will be able to see hundreds of titles from different countries in cinemas throughout the capital.
The organization has just released the complete list of films that will be available in the program. In total, São Paulo residents will be able to see 417 films from 82 different countries, many of them international award winners, available in public spaces, cinemas and cultural centers throughout the city.
Tickets start at R$10 and will be available to buy online from Saturday 12th. In the meantime, here are some of the highlights of this edition!

Focus on Indian films
This year, the great filmmaker honored by the program will be the Indian Satyajit Ray (1921-1992). Screenwriter, writer and art director, Ray directed 37 films, including features, shorts and documentaries. During the exhibition, the public will be able to watch a retrospective of the filmmaker, who will treat iconic films such as “The Song of the Road” (1955), “Aparajito ” (1956) and “World of Apu ” (1959).
Therefore, one of the focuses of the program will be Indian cinema. So get ready to see many masterpieces from the South Asian country!
National premiere of “Still Here”
Another highlight of Mostra is the national premiere of the feature film “Ainda Estou Aqui” (I’m Still Here). Based on the book of the same name by Marcelo Rubens Paiva, the film won the award for best screenplay at the Venice Film Festival and is said to be one of Brazil’s promises for the 2025 Oscars.
The plot tells the story of Eunice Paiva (Fernanda Torres), the author’s mother. After the arrest and disappearance of her husband, Rubens Paiva (Selton Mello), she became one of the symbols of the fight to open the archives on the military dictatorship.
Mostrinha brings programming for children
In this children’s month, we have good news. For the first time, the São Paulo International Film Festival will have a session with only children’s films, aimed entirely at mini cinephiles.
The 1st Mostrinha will premiere on the 17th, at Sala São Paulo, with the animation “Noah’s Ark”. It will also pay tribute to the 30th anniversary of the show “Castelo Rá-Tim-Bum“.
