The guide “The 50 Best Hotels,” which selects the finest hospitality services worldwide, revealed the top picks for 2026—and the Rosewood São Paulo shone for the third consecutive time. At the September 15 ceremony, held in Paris, the São Paulo hotel reinforced its global status by jumping eighteen spots compared to the previous edition.
Sponsored by the Bocktailed brand, the event celebrated the top destinations around the globe. With this award, the São Paulo hotel not only secures its place among the elite but also reinforces its status as a benchmark of sophistication for the most discerning visitors to the city.

Rosewood São Paulo Climbs the Global Rankings
During the celebration in the French capital, the Rosewood achieved an impressive 6th place in the global ranking. Furthermore, the achievement earned it the official title of “The Best Hotel in South America 2026.” By climbing from 24th place to the top 10, the resort was recognized for the third consecutive year as the best hotel in South America and the Best in the Americas in 2026.
The awards evaluate travel experiences based on the opinions of 580 industry experts. In 2026, the top global spot went to the Rosewood Hong Kong in Asia. But Brazil had two entries on the list, with the Copacabana Palace (Rio de Janeiro) ranking 29th.

What makes the Rosewood one of the best hotels in the world?
Opened in 2022, the hotel is a 30,000-square-meter urban oasis just a few blocks from Paulista Avenue. The architectural complex is part of Cidade Matarazzo, blending the heritage of the past with contemporary sophistication.
The property’s 180 rooms and suites are distributed across two buildings. One is the former Filomena Matarazzo Maternity Hospital, built in 1943. The other is the Mata Atlântica Tower, an architectural masterpiece by Pritzker Architecture Prize winner Jean Nouvel.
The combination of historic heritage, contemporary design, and services of the highest standard explains the international success of Rosewood São Paulo. Those seeking the pinnacle of exclusivity, therefore, will find here more than just a place to stay—they will find an ultra-exclusive experience in the heart of São Paulo.
