In May, we reported here on São Paulo Secreto that the musical ‘Priscilla, Queen of the Desert’ is currently showing, with Reynaldo Gianecchini in the lead role. The plot, based on the 1994 film of the same name, follows two drag queens and a trans woman who perform in the Australian desert, but go through various adventures and “perrengues” until they reach their final destination.
Now, we’ve also announced that the base movie is also on show, and better still: in a sing-along version , so that the audience can the audience can immerse themselves in the best hits from the plot! The film will be screened this Sunday, June 30th, at MIS (Av. Europa, 158 – Jardim Europa). The only screening will be at 5pm and the rating is 14. Released in 1994 and directed by Stephan Elliott, ‘The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert’ is an icon of cinema. The plot, which follows a curious and amusing road trip, became the subject of a Broadway musical and has been staged all over the world, including in Brazil.
Its soundtrack includes songs such as ‘I Will Survive’ (Gloria Gaynor), ‘Mamma mia’ (ABBA) and ‘Go West’ (Village People). That’s why it’s a great place for sessions sing along!
