If you’ve always wanted to observe the planets in more detail, this is your chance! On February 28, at 7:30 p.m., Ibirapuera Park will host a free and super special telescope observation event, led by the Ibirapuera Planetarium team.
The astronomical phenomenon will allow the naked eye to see seven planets: Saturn, Mercury, Neptune, Venus, Uranus, Jupiter and Mars. To make the experience even more complete, telescopes will be available for participants to follow the planetary alignment in detail.
What else will be happening during the event?
As well as observing with telescopes, the program run by Urbia, which manages Ibirapuera and other city parks, includes free activities in different green areas of São Paulo. Check them out:
- Faria Lima Park: ecological circuit featuring different species of trees;
- Parque dos Eucaliptos: children’s activities on the eco-location of whales;
- Jardim Felicidade: practical workshop on composting and sustainability.
This is a great opportunity to learn about the mysteries of nature and interact with experts. The activities offered in the four parks are very attractive to children who are just learning, but if you’re a curious adult, it’s also worth taking part.
How to take part in telescope observation?
The free activity takes place at Rosa dos Ventos, near the Ibirapuera Park Visitor Center, starting at 7:30 pm on February 28. However, it’s important to remember that the event depends on the weather conditions, as the presence of clouds can compromise the view of the planets.
Finally, if the sky is clear, this will be a unique opportunity to contemplate the beauties of the universe and learn more about astronomy from experts. So make a note in your diary, hope for good weather conditions and enjoy this special night under the stars!
