Five decades of a remarkable and memorable career have led to an unprecedented exhibition about Ney Matogrosso at the MIS. In February, the Museum of Image and Sound opens its doors to exhibit a show that covers the life and work of one of Latin America’s most emblematic and innovative artists.
Through an immersive journey between the decades, visitors will be able to see iconic photographs, texts and even iconic costumes worn by Ney between 1970 and 2000, including those from his iconic phase in the band Secos & Molhados.
What to expect from the Ney Matogrosso exhibition at MIS?
Organized in chronological order, the exhibition presents Ney’s life and work in six thematic areas. In this way, it highlights the most important moments in his career. In addition, more than 200 of the artist’s personal items will be on display to compose the narrative, check out the collection:
- Headdresses;
- Album covers;
- Documents;
- Photographs;
- Costumes
- Footwear
- Posters.
Throughout the exhibition, visitors will find texts written by Julio Maria, the journalist who developed ‘Ney Matogrosso – A biography’ in 2021. In other words, we can expect very dense and in-depth content about the career of the artist after whom the exhibition is named.
