‘I know I exist because you imagine me‘ is the newest exhibition by photographer Gui Marcondes and is part of the Nova Fotografia 2024 project. Until November 17, you can see the exhibition for free at the Museum of Image and Sound.
So, if you appreciate the art of contemporary photography, you can’t miss this tour, which is a must for those looking to get away from the traditional São Paulo art scene and get to know emerging artists on the photographic scene. In this way, the New Photography program frequently presents new names and, this time, Gui Marcondes is on show.
The dreamlike universe of the Nova Fotografia 2024 exhibition
In keeping with contemporary art, this exhibition is a plunge into the unknown and a search for the identity and memory behind each record. With a series of unpublished images created by the artist, who moves between São Paulo and New York, the experience immerses you in an atmosphere of reflection and mystery.
Using the language of black and white, Gui Marcondes allows visitors to create their own stories for the images on display. Thus challenging common norms and perceptions. With his art, the viewer abandons the passive role of contemplation and becomes an active thinker who reflects on the meaning of each piece, taking into account their personal repertoire.
