One of the largest mansions in the world is in Brazil, right here in the West Zone of São Paulo. The Safra Mansion, belonging to the prestigious family of the same name, appeared in a ranking by Architecture Daily as the 11th largest house in the world.
Occupying an area of 10,000 square meters, the mansion is larger than the Alvorada Palace, and even than the White House. Located in Morumbi, it intrigues São Paulo residents because of its grandeur and discretion – after all, few have the opportunity to see it up close. Check out everything we know about the Safra mansion below!
Safra Mansion is the 11th largest house in the world
Built in 1990, the imposing mansion was the residence of Joseph Safra, a renowned banker who, during his lifetime, was among the richest men not only in Brazil, but in the world.
Covering approximately 22,000 square meters, the grounds are home to an Olympic-sized swimming pool and a vast green area with palm trees and other grand trees. In addition, of course, to the mansion, whose architecture was inspired by the famous Palace of Versailles. The space surprises with its 130 rooms, nine elevators and even a helipad on the roof where the family travels.
Famous for their discretion, the Safra family keeps the place private, receiving few guests. For this reason, little is known about the interior of the residence, which is protected by a strong security system.
