The repertoire includes classical music classics: the first and last movements of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” and Pietro Mascagni’s “Intermezzo” .
There will also be classics from international music and cinema, such as Ennio Morricone’s “Once Upon a Time in the West”, Stanley Myers’ “Cavatina”, Luis Bacalov’s “Il Postino” and Piazzolla’s tango “Adios Nonino”, as well as three pieces performed by João Carlos Martins on the piano.

The inspiring career of conductor João Carlos Martins
The conductor began his career at a very young age, making a name for himself as a pianist when he was just 13. Shortly afterwards, he gained international recognition and became one of the greatest interpreters of Johann Sebastian Bach.
Despite his exceptional career, João Carlos Martins has experienced several obstacles in his career. In addition to an accident in a soccer match, which led to the atrophy of three fingers, the maestro suffered an assault during a robbery in Bulgaria, the after-effects of which compromised the movements of his right hand. He then developed focal dystonia, a condition that impaired the movement of his hands.
Even in the face of so many difficulties, the maestro remains one of today’s best pianists and has started a new path in conducting. Today, at the head of the Bachiana Orchestra, João Carlos Martins has established himself as a symbol of passion for music and resistance to tribulations.
