A town in the interior of the state of São Paulo intends to accomplish a monumental feat: to have the world’s longest zipline. We’re talking about Socorro, destination in the Serra da Mantiqueira, which announced this week its plans to build a 3.4km-long attraction.
Like our readers, we at São Paulo Secreto are also passionate about ecotourism, whether it’s for enjoying nature or enjoy the adrenaline rush of the most radical attractions. That’s why we’ll tell you everything we know about it below!
World’s longest zipline to open in 2025
The announcement of the world’s longest zipline was made this week, and it is expected to open in January 2025. She will be staying at Mega Park Turismo de Aventura, about 140km from the capital.
Currently, this title belongs to Jais Flight, in the city of Ras Al Khaimah, in the United Arab Emirates, which is 2.8km long.
Socorro has become famous above all for its ecotourism attractions, such as hiking trails, rappelling and waterfalls. In addition, the town is a Hydromineral Resort in the state of São Paulo, making it an unmissable option for those looking to relax in thermal waters.
Would you like some cheese bread? Socorro also has an “interstate zipline”
As well as being the longest zipline in the world, Socorro has another interesting title. This is because the city is the only one in Brazil with ziplines in two states.
That’s right: some attractions start in São Paulo and end up only in Minas Gerais for example, the Pânico zipline (1km long) and Calafrio Zipline (200m). How about seizing of your trip to try some authentic cheese bread?
