Who hasn’t heard lies about São Paulo, the kind that make you mad? Nothing puts a São Paulo resident off more than hearing someone talk badly about our city. With this in mind, we took advantage of the fact that this Saturday, April 1st, is April Fool’s Day and selected the biggest lies told about the capital of São Paulo.
Do you agree or are you a passionate Paulistano?
“São Paulo is gray!”
This is one of the biggest lies about São Paulo. After all, the city is considered the graffiti capital of the world. No matter where you go, all you have to do is look at the gables of the buildings and you’ll find one of the hundreds of murals scattered throughout the neighborhoods.
We’ve already taken a tour of some of São Paulo’s most famous graffiti and you can take a tour of all of them too.
“It only rains in São Paulo!”
Okay, we know that the nickname “Land of the Drizzle” didn’t come for nothing, but calm down. Here, it rains an average of 100 days a year, which isn’t even 1/3 of the time. In other words, São Paulo can be considered a city with a mild climate.
Of course, the capital has its peculiarities, such as experiencing four seasons in a single day. But São Paulo is also a solar city and that is undeniable.
“The city only has buildings!”
Anyone who says this has certainly never visited any of São Paulo’s more than 100 municipal parks, or Pico do Jaraguá, or Serra da Cantareira, or Parelheiros. In other words, they know very little about our giant city.
It’s true that in the business centers, in areas such as Faria Lima, Avenida Paulista and others, buildings prevail. However, the capital of São Paulo preserves some nature (as far as possible for a megalopolis). You just have to want to see it.
“There’s nothing to do in SP!”
This is such a lie that it makes you want to scream. If it were true, this site would be empty and without any sightseeing tips. Besides, you only have to take into account the number of museums, parks, cultural centers, cinemas, theaters, hiking trails and an infinite number of other activities to enjoy in São Paulo.
The truth is that there is so much to do in our city. So many options, in fact, that it can be difficult to choose. But that’s exactly why you can count on São Paulo Secreto.
