With the elections this Sunday, the 25th, many residents of São Paulo’s capital are traveling to vote in their hometowns. To avoid unexpected delays, it’s always wise to check for road closures on São Paulo’s highways. That’s why we’re providing a list of roadwork on highways in the interior and along the coast of São Paulo, so you can plan your route with peace of mind.

If your route takes you along the coast, please note: last Monday (the 19th), the Novo Litoral Concessionaire closed the SP-055 access ramp in Itanhaém (km 333+600) due to construction work on an overpass, with no estimated reopening date. Drivers should follow the signs and use km 332+800 as an alternate route. For more information, contact CNL at 0800 098 8855 (extension 3).

Those traveling through the Baixada Santista region also need to be aware. The Casqueiro River bridge, at km 59 of the Caminho do Mar Highway (SP-148), is completely closed to vehicles due to the risk of collapse. It is recommended to take the detour via SP-150 (Anchieta Highway).

Through this Saturday, the 24th, the capital’s most important expressway will also experience closures. The Traffic Engineering Company (CET) is alternating nightly closures between the central and express lanes, always from 10:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. the following day. The partial closure is due to maintenance work on Marginal Tietê.
