Nerd Pride Day takes place in May and, to celebrate the date, a super free event is taking place in São Paulo’s most Japanese neighborhood! If you’re into technology, series, games, anime, k-pop and much more, you can’t miss Geek Day, a free festival with lots of attractions and is pet-friendly.
The event takes place on May 3rd and 4th in the streets of Liberdade. And although Geek Pride is only officially celebrated on the 25th, the festivities will start much earlier here, as the geek community in São Paulo is very strong.
What do you find on Geek Day?
Strolling along Rua dos Estudantes, you’ll be able to check out the Feira das Deusas, a creative fair with more than 35 author brands and secure that special Mother’s Day gift. In addition, Geek Day has a Cosplay and K-Pop contest; recreational activities, such as a Bayblade school; music and gastronomy.
In other words, this event offers a complete and free agenda for you to enjoy your day in Liberdade. There will be various gastronomic options, mainly oriental cuisine, leisure attractions, including a fair where you can do some shopping for exclusive products, and much more.
Free event takes place in Bairro da Liberdade
Geek Day is free and takes place from 10am to 6pm, on May 3rd and 4th, at Rua dos Estudantes. If you want to go by public transport, the event is easily accessible from the Japan-Liberdade Station on Line 1-Azul of the Metro.
Now all you have to do is put on your best cosplay or rehearse a routine of your favorite idol and enjoy this celebration of youth culture to the full. Without a doubt, the festivals in Bairro da Liberdade are among the favorites of São Paulo residents, and you can’t miss out.
