The Liberdade, one of Centro’s most emblematic neighborhoods, is about to receive a large socio-cultural area. This is because the City Council announced this week the project to build an esplanade in the area, which will include squares, dining options and leisure areas. Work on the esplanade in Liberdade is only due to start in 2025, but we’ve already got all the details for you. Check it out!

will look like
The cultural space will be available from three slabs above the East-West Radial, which will connect the Shuhei, Guilherme de Almeida, Cidade de Osaka and Mie Ken viaducts. As a result, Liberdade will have large free spaces for pedestrians.
The esplanade will feature cultural attractions, such as exhibitions and even plays, as well as gastronomic kiosks, a center of memory and ethnic culture and space for events.
Construction will take place through a public-private partnership, with an investment of approximately R$333 million. Until October 18, the Liberdade esplanade project will be in the public consultation phase, when the population can make suggestions for the proposal. Do you have any interesting ideas that could be added to the project? Feel free to share it!
