On November 16 and 17, at 3pm, the Tenente Brigadeiro Faria Lima Park is holding a free event focused on environmental education. During the activity, participants will be able to find out more about the fauna and flora of the site with the support of specialists. Thus, the ‘Getting to know the Trees’ attraction is an excellent option for a holiday outing.
So, if you’re passionate about nature and are looking for something to do this weekend, you can’t miss out on this environmental circuit that promises to be a lot of fun.
The ‘Getting to know the trees’ activity:
During the guided walk through the park, a team specializing in environmental education will teach participants to identify the species of trees native to the area, some of which are even threatened with extinction. The activity therefore highlights the importance of preserving biodiversity.
The project aims to provide a recreational moment for adults and children to learn about topics such as air quality and climate control. There will be educational materials and interactive activities throughout the tour. In addition, if visitors are lucky, they will be able to spot up to 34 species of birds and eight species of butterflies that inhabit the region. Check out some of the trees explored on the tour:
- Paraná pine(Araucaria angustifolia);
- Japanese mastic(Schinus terebinthifolia);
- Imperial bamboo(Bambusa vulgaris)
- Brazilwood(Paubrasilia echinata);
- privet(Ligustrum lucidum);
- Avocado tree(Persea americana).
