The Rolim Building, one of São Paulo’s first skyscrapers will reopen its doors after 40 years of inactivity and, this time, it will house a unprecedented horror experience. Its 13 floors, totally dedicated to the most macabre, will be full of labyrinths and challenges for players who have the courage to set foot there.
The inauguration of the project, which promises to be a mix of escape room and theater, is scheduled for Halloween, on October 31, but ticket sales start in August and will cost around R$80. Demand for the experience is expected to be high, as the Abadom, a similar horror space in Santo Amaro the waiting list has already reached 9,000 people.
What can we expect from the new phase of the Rolim Building?
With the proposal to mix the real and the imaginary, for example: zombie invasion and crimes that actually took place on the site, each floor of the building will have its own identity, but of course, focused on horror. Check out what you’ll find there:
-
- Labyrinths, actors and secondary attractions;
-
- Museum that tells of the 18 deaths that took place there;
-
- An immersive experience that starts with a group of 12 people on the first floor and goes up to the 7th floor, where there is a mysterious safe;
-
- Bar do Grito: located on the 13th, the bar is the final destination of the experience and offers food and drinks with or without alcohol for those who get there. The soundtrack chosen by the producers is the screams of the participants who will be running away from the creatures on the floors below, live.
In addition, in the future there will be Airbnb accommodation and a hamburger restaurant on Rolim’s premises.
The macabre stories behind the construction
To make the experience even more real and horrifying, the organizers hired a historian who studied and researched the building. So she retrieved the criminal cases that took place there between 1928 and 1950 to complement the narrative of the experience.
So, if you’re brave and want to take part in this horror adventure in the center of São Paulo, keep an eye out for tickets going on sale in August.
