São Paulo has just gained a new address that promises to join the list of the city’s most desirable hotspots: Starlane. The bar, created in 2018 in East London, has just opened its first international location on Avenida Rebouças.
The space combines signature cocktails, artisan pizza, cutting-edge musical curation and an environment designed to stimulate all the senses. The result? A perfect mix of culture, drinks and music, with a São Paulo soul and cosmopolitan spirit.
A new classic: Starlane and sound you can feel on your skin
Housed in a 480 m² 1940s building, the new Starlane bar in São Paulo combines sophistication and simplicity.
The design preserves the original taco flooring and reveals the architectural structure of the space, with columns, beams and exposed brickwork. Gardens with tall trees, a glassed-in kitchen, an indoor and outdoor bar, bleachers and a pizza oven in full view of the public complete the ambience.
The experience goes beyond aesthetics: Gunter Sarfert (Cora, Lágrima, ex-Caracol) and Ingrid Shindo sign the drinks menu. Meanwhile, chef Thiago Cerqueira is in charge of the menu of classic pizzas – all harmonized with a refined musical curatorship and an exclusive acoustic system.
One of the house’s great differentials is the custom-made sound system, with 2.7-meter-high towers and large white horns inspired by vintage models. Engineer André Luiz Costa took care of the acoustic project, creating a sound immersion that embraces the audience – from the dance floor to the sofas in the bar.
“Our idea is to offer a sonic journey, where music is felt, not just heard,” summarizes Lisa Uhlendorff, one of the partners of the São Paulo unit.
Starlane São Paulo is open from Wednesday to Sunday and aims to be the new meeting point for different tribes, without labels or fuss, but with a lot of personality, affection and connection.
