From this Saturday, the 14th, you can visit the exhibition ’60 Years of Brazilian Fashion’ for free. The show, which brings together the work of 29 artisans, takes a contemporary look at Brazilian fashion over the last six decades. The aim is to highlight the diversity and creative richness of national fashion, in all its styles and trends.
The exhibition runs until November 10 at A CASA do Objeto Brasileiro Museum (Avenida Pedroso de Morais, 1216 – Vila Madalena). It is available from Thursday to Sunday, from 10am to 6pm.
’60 Years of Brazilian Fashion’ celebrates the diversity of trends in the country
In all, 60 garments are part of the show, produced by young contemporary talents. Inspired by renowned names such as Zuzu Angel, Ronaldo Fraga and Walério Araújo, as well as their own experiences and research, the artisans bring reinterpretations of trends that marked Brazil from 1960 to 2010. In addition to their intersection with social and cultural movements.
Curated by designers and professors Walquiria Caversan and Nina Florsz, the exhibition recognizes clothing not just as something to wear. On the contrary, it is a cultural manifestation that says a lot about a person’s identity, as well as the values of their time. In this way, fashion is also a form of expression, both artistically and culturally.
Children can be “fashion designers for a day!”
In addition to the garments, the exhibition features the interactive space ‘DESCOBERTAS’, aimed at children. In it, children aged between 3 and 10 can let their imagination run wild and make their own creations with interlocking pieces.
In other words, as well as giving adults a greater understanding of fashion, ’60 Years of Brazilian Fashion’ also brings fun to the little ones. How about arranging a family outing this weekend?
