A fun and accessible outing is the Americana Ecological Park, better known as Zoo Americana. With more than 120,000 square meters, the space is home to more than 100 species of animals, including llamas, jaguars, macaws and tigers. Americana is 126 kilometers from São Paulo, or a 2-hour drive, depending on traffic conditions. The main routes to get there are via Rodovia dos Bandeirantes or Rodovia Anhanguera, with a toll cost of approximately R$ 28.60 (section).
But if you prefer to go by bus, no problem: the journey takes around 2 hours and 30 minutes on the Piracicabana, Ouro Verde, Guerino Seiscento or Buser bus routes. Tickets usually vary between R$23 and R$66 (one way).
