The world meets in São Paulo. And, to celebrate our title as the largest Middle Eastern immigration center in Brazil, the Thousand and One Flavors Festival will present the best of the gastronomy and culture of the Arab countries.
The event takes place on May 24 and 25, from 11am to 9pm, at Largo da Batata – Pinheiros. For those going by public transport, you can get off at the Faria Lima station on Line 4-Yellow of the Metro, which is next to the venue. In addition, the festival is pet-friendly and admission is free.
What to expect at the Thousand and One Flavors Festival?
Without a doubt, the event’s main attraction is the delicious Middle Eastern cuisine. You’ll find typical dishes from Afghanistan, Iran, Lebanon, Morocco, Syria, Iraq and other countries:
- Grape leaf or cabbage cigars;
- Moroccan couscous;
- Kabuli Palau;
- Shawarma;
- Samosa;
- Falafel;
- Kafta.
The dishes will be served in their traditional and halal versions, following Islamic precepts. In addition, there will be typical sweets, such as baklava and mamul, and drinks, such as apricot cocktail with Arak, teas and aromatic coffees.

The Thousand and One Flavors Festival doesn’t end at the food stalls. The event will also showcase typical Middle Eastern dances and offer classes in the disciplines. There will be performances of Horse Dance, Tanoura Dance, Dabke, Said Dance, Bellydance and even hip-hop with Arabic rhythms.
In addition, the festival will have a space for refugee handicrafts (including from Egypt), henna tattoos and coffee grounds reading. In other words, there will be a full program to enjoy the day at Mil e Um Sabores!
