Thiago Lacerda, known for his success as a good guy in Globo soap operas, is now showing the other side of his talent by playing a denser character. Check out everything you need to know about this play, which is already sold out!
What to expect from ‘A Peste’ with Thiago Lacerda?
The play’s main character is Doctor Bernard Rieux, played by Thiago Lacerda. In this plot, we follow a devastating epidemic of Bubonic Plague hitting the city of Oran, in Algeria. In post-pandemic periods, such as the one we are currently experiencing, this plot can cause quite a stir.
Despite narrating a public health crisis through the eyes of a doctor, the narrative turns to the social layer of the situation. It exposes themes such as fear, selfishness, solidarity and the absurdity of the human condition in the face of crises. The Plague is a social critique and an allegory for human behavior in times of crisis and struggle against oppressive forces.
