After drawing more than 84,000 people in 2025, the Book Fair returns for its 5th edition in full force. The free literary festival takes over Charles Miller Square in Pacaembu from May 30 to June 7, coinciding with the Corpus Christi holiday weekend.
With 107 confirmed authors, 105 activities on the three official stages, and more than 160 exhibitors spread across over 15,000 square meters, it is the largest open-air literary event in São Paulo.
What to expect from the Book Fair in 2026
This year’s curators are placing a special focus on Latin American literature and its dialogues with Brazil. Confirmed international authors include Colombia’s Pilar Quintana, Italy’s Sandro Veronesi, and Chile’s Daniela Catrileo. The Brazilian lineup features Carla Madeira, Jeferson Tenório, Ana Maria Machado, Silviano Santiago, Luiz Antonio Simas, Natalia Timerman, and Noemi Jaffe, among many others.
The program also features panels on thrillers, biographies, psychoanalysis, memoir, and contemporary themes such as social inequality and the climate emergency. One of the highlights is the series on São Paulo’s nightlife. The event will revisit everything from the historic Ferro’s Bar to the disco, rock, and techno scenes that defined São Paulo in the 1990s and 2000s.
The festival’s structure includes three simultaneous stages: the Plaza Stage, the Football Museum Auditorium, and the Rebentos Space, geared toward children and young adults. In addition, there will be three more Literary Stages with parallel programming curated by the exhibitors themselves.
To browse the full program, the organizers have launched afeiradolivro.com.br. The idea is for the public to be able to save events to their Google Calendar and consult the complete list of participating authors, publishers, and bookstores .
