This weekend, the 8th and 9th, ParCão Chácara Klabin is hosting another edition of the Feira do Bem. The popular open-air market offers an afternoon full of attractions: games, live music, dancing, free workshops, a food festival with freshly prepared tasting options and gourmet grocery items such as cheeses, antipasti and jams to give as gifts or take home, and much more.
In addition, this time the event has prepared a special activity for the little ones: “Apprentice for Good“. In this free circuit, each child receives a piece of paper with options for activities to do at stations to learn about different professions. For example, being a rescuer, being a plumber, being an investigator, being a delivery man, among others. All this in a playful and entertaining way.
The ‘Feira do Bem’
With more than four years of history, the Feira do Bem was created by a couple who dream of a better world, Erika Fritschy Atie and Ernest Saraiva Petty.
Through the project’s initiatives, the organizers spread love and kindness, inspiring people of all ages. After all, as Erika points out:
In times of intolerance, we need to take good practices to different corners of the city.”
Spreading Kindness
The program includes fixed attractions already known to regulars. For example, at the “Kindness Coffee”, you can have a coffee that you paid for previously and give something back to your neighbor.
At the Water of Kindness, visitors will find biodegradable cups with messages of love and kindness at various points during the event. In other words, when they’re thirsty, visitors have the opportunity to drink some fresh water, check the message on the glass and be invited to leave a new message on a blank glass.
In addition, the fair is once again promoting the Gratitude Clothesline, where visitors can hang a piece of paper on which they write reasons for which they are grateful.
So that no one leaves without trying a new flavor, the fair offers options such as: hamburgers, poke, paella, risottos, pasta, garlic sandwiches, charcuterie, hot dogs, pizzas, crepes, cannoli, Arabic food; as well as drinks, including craft beer and draft beer, and signature drinks.
The program also includes live music, dancing, free workshops and traditional games for children, young people and adults.
Finally, the initiative also seeks to support different social projects, including:
-
- Guadalupe Klabin Parish Bazaar;
-
- Friends of Klabin Pets;
-
- Núcleo Assistencial Bezerra de Menezes – NABEM (social and emotional support);
-
- Bambart (Mental Health Network project);
-
- Solidarity with Art (caring for homeless people).
