This Sunday, the 1st, Vila Maria Zélia is hosting another edition of the Quintal dos Prettos samba circle. The event, which takes place on the first of every month, is led by brothers Magnu Sousá and Maurilio de Oliveira.
In addition to the duo, another 10 musicians from São Paulo join the show, which guarantees 4 hours straight of lots of samba, without a break. Tickets start at R$ 30 and are on sale via official website.
Quintal dos Prettos: celebrating Brazilian culture with quality samba
In partnership with producer Margareth Valentim, the brothers created Quintal dos Prettos. In acoustic format, the samba circle has been running since 2018 and, last year alone, brought together around 33,000 people.
The show aims to provide a true atmosphere of the old samba circles and foster people’s connection with this musical genre that is so important to Brazilian culture.
With a diverse and contagious repertoire, the roda de samba unites different generations around Brazilian music, recalling the great names of samba from the 1980s, such as Grupo Fundo de Quintal, Almir Guineto, Leci Brandão, Jorge Aragão, Zeca Pagodinho, among others.
In 2019, the duo released their first audiovisual record entitled ‘Quintal dos Prettos Ao Vivo’. The project featured illustrious appearances by Arlindinho, Salgadinho and Fred Camacho, and has already accumulated 13 million views on YouTube.
In addition to the music, the event also aims to promote connection between people and tolerance. With a space open to all ages, the show seeks to unite different audiences around art, culture, leisure, entrepreneurship and entertainment.
For this reason, in each edition, about 20 peripheral entrepreneurs have the opportunity to exhibit and sell their products, strengthening the creative economy.
