‘Conserto para Dois’, starring Claudia Raia and Jarbas Homem de Mello, is back on stage in São Paulo! After captivating São Paulo residents in 2021, the musical comedy returns for a short season at the Teatro Sabesp Frei Caneca.
The sessions take place every Friday at 7pm, Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 6pm. Tickets cost from R$ 21.18 and are on sale via official website.
Conserto para Dois is a journey through love and mismatches
The play is based on a gripping plot of love, encounters and mismatches between the writer Ângelo Rinaldo and the actress Luna de Palma, played masterfully by Jarbas Homem de Mello and Claudia Raia.
Separated, the two embark on a cruise to forget their love disappointment. They just didn’t expect to board the same ship, Sinfonia dos Mares, bound for Antarctica. From there, a series of hilarious and moving events unfold.
The musical, originally created by Anna Toledo, is a 100% Brazilian production. As well as highlighting the vocal and stage talent of its protagonists, it has a rich narrative that involves the audience right from the start.
Claudia Raia talks about her desire to bring the show to São Paulo once again:
We felt that the audience left with a taste of wanting more. We ended a season with a full house and sold-out tickets. We realized that there were still more people who would like to see this comedy that is ‘Repair for Two, The Musical’ and we decided to do another season.”
Two actors, many characters
The unfolding of ‘Fix for Two’ and its miraculous twists and turns are told on stage by Claudia Raia and Jarbas Homem de Mello, who are divided between several characters. In addition to Luna de Palma, Claudia plays:
– Lena de Paula, a Drag Queen who performs at Sinfonia dos Mares paying homage to her diva Luna de Palma.
– Rinaldi’s therapist, who works via Skype and is trying to help him through this difficult time with her consultations and some medication;
– Jussara, Lena’s chambermaid and the only person who can get close to her;
– the mermaid (a daydream by Ângelo Rinaldi);
– and one of the ship’s sailors, who always has a good tip to offer.
Jarbas, as well as bringing the famous writer Ângelo Rinaldi to life, embodies him:
– Dona Socorro, Luna’s mother, who is always giving her (very bombastic) opinions without being asked;
– Stenio Estebán, an Argentine film producer;
– Pompeu, an old millionaire with a big secret;
– and one of the ship’s sailors.
