Teatro Santander announced that it will host the blockbuster musical adaptation of ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ in São Paulo. And best of all, the premiere date is already set: February 2027!
The announcement marks the theater’s anniversary, which celebrated its 10th anniversary this Wednesday, the 25th. One of the country’s leading venues for major musicals promises to shake up the cultural scene with this new production.

‘The Devil Wears Prada’ musical premieres in São Paulo with a score by Elton John
The new production is inspired by Lauren Weisberger’s bestseller and the film that became a global phenomenon.
The plot follows the relationship betweenMiranda Priestly, played by Meryl Streep, a powerful fashion magazine editor, and Andrea Sachs, played by Anne Hathaway, a young recent graduate who moves to New York and lands a job as Priestly’s assistant.
The announcement coincides with the buzz surrounding the second film in the franchise, reinforcing the appeal of the story that takes a behind-the-scenes look at the fashion world.

The show has already been a hit in London’s West End, where more than a million people have purchased tickets and performances have been sold out since its premiere.
Now, the production is coming directly to Brazil, bypassing Broadway. This underscores São Paulo’s importance in the international circuit of major productions.
In addition, another highlight is the original soundtrack composed by Elton John, known for pop classics and stage hits alike. The Brazilian version will be directed by José Possi Neto and produced by Touché Entretenimento and Artnic.
Auditions are scheduled for May 2026, the same period when ticket sales are expected to begin. In other words, stay tuned because we’ll have news about the musical soon.
