If the idea appeals to you, you can’t miss Multilingo, the most international event in the capital. Twice a week, it brings together Brazilians and foreigners from all over the world with lots of chat, music and cold beer.
The meetings take place on Thursdays and Fridays at two different addresses. Admission is free or at popular prices, so that everyone can take part. Shall we?
Multilingo: get to know this multicultural place to practice languages in SP
Multilingo São Paulo began in 2017, providing open meetings for practicing foreign languages. Today, it has become a large community of “linguaphiles”, people who meet weekly to practice languages in São Paulo, be it English, Spanish, French or many others! In 2023, it was estimated that 60 to 100 people attended each meeting.
In addition, the space brings together many foreigners who, without knowing anyone in São Paulo, see Multilingo as an opportunity to meet new people and keep in touch with their native language. In other words, it’s as much about practicing your language skills as it is about cultural networking.
And how do these meetings work? When they get there, visitors stick stickers on their clothes with the languages they speak or want to practise. From there, they just have to find someone to talk to! And you don’t have to be fluent to take part, do you? All levels of learning are welcome, from basic to fluent.
How to participate?
Multilingo takes place twice a week at two locations in the capital.
First on Thursdays, at Baixo Pinheiros (Rua Guaicuí, 62), with free admission. The bar offers a double round of caipirinhas until 10pm, as well as live music and a games room.
And then on Fridays, at Quintal Hostel e Bar (Rua Maestro Cardim, 1333), admission is R$10. With a relaxed atmosphere, the space offers karaoke, beer pong, drinks and food.
